Elgin County COVID-19 Information - Updated May 19 While Elgin County recognizes library services are vital to our communities, our staff continue to be redeployed to our long-term care facilities and other duties at the County. We are working to develop proper protocols and measures to ensure the health and safety of our staff and those who use the Library and will reopen our services as soon as it is safe to do so. Library Materials & Cards Please be advised that your materials on holds shelves in branches will stay there until after branches re-open. Any holds placed before branches re-open will not be available for you to pick up until after branches re-open. Due dates for checked out items have been extended until Monday, June 8th. Expiring library cards have been extended until Tuesday, September 1st. You will not have late fines due to temporary library branch closures.
