Monday, April 22, 2024 is Earth Day and at Elgin County Library we have lots of resources to help you celebrate this wonderful planet. Earth Day is a reminder of the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability, encouraging us to come together and take action for a healthier planet and brighter future.

Things you can do to support Climate Action this Earth Day (and all year long):

  • Join an event that is already scheduled (check out local Facebook groups or your local municipalities),
  • Organize your own event, like a community clean up,
  • Make a pledge to carry Earth Day initiatives thoughout the year,
  • Plant a tree, 
  • Start composting, 
  • Support pollinators by planting a pollinator garden, 
  • Learn more about sustainable and environmentally conscious habits you can adopt, 
  • Borrow library books, 
  • Start a repair café to reduce waste,
  • And lots more!
