The County of Elgin raised funds for the following events:
14th Annual Warden’s Charity Golf Tournament
On August 31, 2023, Elgin County Warden Ed Ketchabaw hosted a golf tournament in support of homelessness and inclusivity across the County. This tournament was held at the St. Thomas Golf & Country Club.
We are pleased to announce that this year’s tournament raised $19,000 with $4750 going to each of the following charities:
- Community Living Elgin
- The Family Central
- Quad County Support Services
- The West Elgin Community Health Centre (Systems Navigation Program)

On April 29th, 2022, Elgin County Warden, Mary French, hosted a charity gala in support of the Terrace Lodge Fundraising Campaign. Held at the Aylmer Old Town Hall and Aylmer Library, this gala raised an impressive $27,500.
This event celebrated the ‘These Hands: Touching Memoirs of Seniors Living in our Community’ book which features the hands of 56 individuals living within Elgin County. With the flip of each page, this publication provides readers with the courageous adventures, tear-jerking love stories, triumphs and tribulations, and the livelihoods of the hands behind each thoughtfully curated black and white photograph.

The County of Elgin is eager to resume its annual golf tournament in support of the work being done by the United Way. Last year, the shutdown forced the tournament to be cancelled but it is with renewed optimism that we share our plans for the 2021 event. The main goals for the day are to focus on the delivery of a fun and relaxing experience for participants while supporting a worthy local cause. The tournament is scheduled for September 2nd, 2021 and will take place at the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club, 42325 Sparta Line, Union, ON N0L 2L0.
The tournament will be structured a bit differently this year to comply with the current safety protocols that golf courses and events must follow. For more details please see the invitation letter and registration form.
