2020 - 2022 Strategic Plan
In 2019 Elgin County Council embarked on a strategic planning process to develop a plan that would guide Council and staff actions for the remainder of the current Council term. This Strategic Plan is designed to act as a roadmap for serving, growing and investing in the community. The Plan seeks to align the County’s efforts and resources in support of Council’s strategic goals. As part of this strategy Council also developed an operational plan for staff, an action plan for Council, and a performance measurement framework to monitor progress in achieving strategic goals.
The three videos below elaborate on each of the three strategic goals as identified by County Council and provide a deeper insight into to what achieving these goals will mean for residents of Elgin County.

We do this by focusing on:
1. Planning for and facilitating commercial, industrial, residential, and agricultural growth.
2. Fostering a healthy environment.
3. Enhancing quality of place.
Investing In Elgin
To make responsible financial decisions.
We do this by focusing on:
1. Ensuring we have the necessary tools, resources and infrastructure to deliver programs and services now and in the future.
2. Delivering mandated programs and services efficiently and effectively.
