Elgin County has been made aware of suspicious text messages being sent to members of the public regarding outstanding provincial offences fines that must be paid or resolved by clicking a link. We would like to remind residents and visitors that the County does not correspond via text message and to never click a link from an unknown sender.

Elgin County intends to control invasive Phragmites in specific areas along its rural
roadsides. Pesticide use is in accordance with the Public Works Exception under the
Cosmetic Pesticides Ban for the promotion of public health and safety.
