Auxiliary
The Auxiliary is a self governed group of individuals who provide volunteer service, fundraising initiatives and special event programs for the residents of our three long-term care homes. Many Auxiliaries exist throughout our area, in hospitals and health care facilities as well as in communities across the Country. A separate entity to the home, they partner with the home to provide funds for special projects, needed equipment or special programming which enhance the resident’s quality of life.
The County of Elgin homes host a thriving Auxiliary in each of the long-term care homes; Bobier Villa, Elgin Manor and Terrace Lodge. The Auxiliaries meet one time per month in the home and gather collectively throughout the County of Elgin for annual events and meetings with other local Auxiliaries.
Tuck Shop
The Terrace Lodge and Elgin Manor Auxiliaries maintain a daily tuck shop, serving refreshments to the residents, visitors and staff daily from 2:00pm – 3:00pm. The Bobier Villa Auxiliary run a weekly afternoon Sunday tea from 2:00pm – 3:30pm.
Fundraising
Through successful fundraising the County of Elgin homes Auxiliaries have provided funds for many projects and initiatives throughout the homes.
