Winter Reading Challenge 2024

Elgin County, can we snowshoe all the way to the Arctic Circle? We think we can, but we need your help!

The Arctic Circle is 2646km away from Elgin County.

One hour of reading = one kilometer of snowshoeing. We all need to read together to get there!

We’ve planned our route, we’ve got our snowshoes. Now all we need is some reading power!

How you can help:

  • Register for the Arctic Circle Reading Challenge on our reading challenge website/app Beanstack.
  • Log all your reading between January 31 and March 2 on Beanstack. Every minute read counts!
  • Follow us on social media to keep track of where we are on our journey.
  • Read at least 300 minutes by March 2 to be entered into a prize draw!

Prizes up for grabs include:

A pass to go tubing at Boler Mountain (for up to a family of 5) and more wintery prizes!

Our route:

Contact your local Elgin County Library branch for help or with questions. Happy reading Elgin County!
