Terrace Lodge Fundraising Campaign Reaches 50% of 2021 Fundraising Target

Central Elgin, ON – The Terrace Lodge Redevelopment Fundraising Committee is delighted to announce that the fundraising campaign has reached 50% of its 2021 fundraising target.

The campaign, entitled “The Comforts of Home”, has set a target of raising $675,000 over the course of three (3) years. The target of $675,000 has been divided equally over the three (3) years for an annual target of $225,000. As of July 2021, 50% of this target has been reached.

“I am extremely pleased with the progress of the campaign and if we can keep the momentum going, we will be right on track to achieve our annual target,” said Councillor Dominique Giguère, Chair of the Terrace Lodge Redevelopment Fundraising Committee. “I am humbled by the generosity of the Elgin County community and want to extend a sincere thank you to the local businesses, service clubs and individuals who have already contributed. You are part of an important journey to implement a life-changing approach to senior care in our community.”

The Campaign has received several large donations from local service clubs and businesses over the past two (2) months helping to achieve this significant milestone. These include a $75,000 pledge over three (3) years from Green Lane Community Trust, a $10,000 pledge for services from the Aylmer Express, a $10,000 donation from Westminster Mutual Insurance Company as well as $5,000 from Elgin Roofing.

Councillor Giguère also recognized the efforts of the Fundraising Committee who remain dedicated to the Campaign and have continued to meet virtually over the past several months.

Currently the Campaign is focusing on raising funds for the outdoor areas at Terrace Lodge, this includes two (2) large BBQs for residents and their families to utilize during visits. The Committee would like to invite any local business interested in donating one of the BBQs to contact them at DonateToTL@elgin.ca or call 548.888.6252.

The fundraising campaign entitled “The Comforts of Home” is raising money to purchase the value-added items that will make the newly redeveloped facility feel like home for the residents that live there. A virtual catalogue has been developed to allow for online donations (www.donatetoterracelodge.ca) and donations by cash or cheque can be made through any Member of the Fundraising Committee.
