King George VI Lift Bridge Maintenance Work

Central Elgin, ON – The County of Elgin will be undertaking maintenance work on the King George VI Lift Bridge from Wednesday, November 15th at 8:00 AM – Thursday, November 16th at 4:00 PM. As a result, the Lift Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic during this time. Pedestrian traffic is expected to be opened.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to utilize the detour highlighted below while travelling to and from Port Stanley during the bridge closure. This approximate 4km detour will re-direct traffic utilizing Carlow Road, Warren Street and Colborne Street.

Businesses will remain open throughout this closure period. The County of Elgin apologizes for any inconvenience that this closure may cause.
