King George VI Lift Bridge Maintenance Work

Central Elgin, ON – The County of Elgin will be undertaking maintenance work on the King George VI Lift Bridge on Sunday, October 16th, 2022. As a result, the Lift Bridge will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16th.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to utilize the detour highlighted below while travelling to and from Port Stanley on Sunday, October 16th. This approximately 4km detour will re-direct traffic down Carlow Road, Warren Street and Colborne Street.

Businesses that are typically opened on Sundays will remain open throughout this one-day closure period. The County of Elgin apologizes for any inconvenience that this closure may cause.
