Elgin County Homes to host Three Job Fairs

August 11, 2022
For Immediate Release

Central Elgin, ON – The County of Elgin is hosting three (3) Job Fairs to recruit for PSWs, RPNs, RNs, and Dietary Aides/Cooks within each of the three (3) County owned Long-Term Care Homes: Bobier Villa (Dutton, ON), Elgin Manor (Fingal, ON) & Terrace Lodge (Aylmer, ON). These job fairs are being held off-site on August 16th, 18th, and September 15th where there will be on-the-spot job interviews with same-day conditional job offers.

Ensuring that Elgin’s most vulnerable population is well taken care of is a top priority within the Elgin County Homes. Through hosting these three (3) off-site job fairs, the County hopes to add additional individuals to help support the already exceptional team of knowledgeable and well-trained staff within each Home. With starting wages between $25.82 and $35.00 per hour, these positions should not be overlooked.

“At Elgin County Homes, we are proud to offer competitive wages and to be recognized by the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) as a Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO),” said Michele Harris, Director of Homes & Seniors Services. “These qualities are only a small fraction of why working in any of Elgin’s Long-Term Care Homes can lead to a rewarding, long-standing career. Current staff value the competitive staff-to-resident ratio and home-like environment where they become like family to not only the residents and their families, but to their esteemed colleagues as well. I welcome anyone looking for a change in career to consider joining the team at any one of our three Homes in Elgin County.”

“Elgin County Human Resources and Long-Term Care Homes’ management teams are excited to connect with community job seekers interested in learning more about our amazing employment opportunities across our three Long-Term Care Homes,” said Amy Thomson, Director of Human Resources. “Come speak to us about what it is like to be an employee at the County of Elgin. We welcome qualified PSWs, Dietary Aides/Cooks, RPNs and RNs to come learn more about our Homes and the benefits of being an Elgin County employee.”

Anyone looking to start their rewarding career at one of our three (3) Long-Term Care Homes is invited to attend any of the job fairs mentioned below. If you are unable to attend, please email jobs@elgin.ca to submit your resume. For additional details, please visit www.elgincounty.ca/careers.
