Public Notice : Snow Removal and Accessibility in Central Elgin

Canada Post Community Mailboxes

Canada Post is responsible for removal of snow around the community mailboxes. However, there may be times when the snow is not removed consistently, making it difficult for residents to access the mailboxes.

In the event that this happens, Canada Post has a reporting system on their website that allows a service ticket to be created to ensure the issue is addressed.

The Canada Post website states the following:

If there’s snow around your mailbox that’s preventing you from getting your mail you’ll need to create a service ticket. We’ll have it cleared for you as quickly as possible.

If you can’t retrieve your mail from the mailbox due to snow buildup, you can request snow clearance online by visiting the Create A Service Ticket page.
