Uniting Partners for Emergency Preparedness
Central Elgin, ON – Earlier this week, Elgin County’s Community Control Group conducted its annual Emergency Response Exercise. The simulation was designed to practice the County’s Emergency Plan to deal with a winter storm, multi-vehicle accident, hazardous materials spill, and power outage, all at once!
The county collaborated with several of its Municipal Partners to rehearse an incident that focused on the municipalities located along the 401 corridor.
This activity is mandated by the province and is a crucial part of the county’s emergency management program. “Close partnerships with our Local Municipal Partners and emergency partners are critical to protecting our citizens and responders during an emergency of this nature. I want to express my gratitude to everyone involved in this commendable initiative,” said Elgin County Warden Ed Ketchabaw
