Meeks Bridge Replacement

Project Description
The County of Elgin is undertaking a detailed design and contract administration for the replacement of the Meeks Bridge on Sparta Line (County Road 27), within the Township of Southwold.
Meeks Bridge which spans Kettle Creek was constructed in 1900 is a single span, steel double-intersection Warren truss (Double Warren) with verticals bridge structure. The bridge currently contains a posted load limit restriction of 8 tonnes, and is planned to be replaced in 2021.
Construction Schedule
Construction Start: April 26, 2021* Estimated Completion: August 31, 2021*

Construction Detour
The following tailored construction detour will be in place throughout the duration of the project, and will involve traffic being directed south via either Sunset Drive (CR4) or Union Road (CR20) to Warren Street (CR21) and around.
