Archives Acquires School Board Records

The Archives and the Thames Valley District School Board have concluded an agreement whereby custody and control of registers for closed Elgin County and City of St. Thomas schools created before 1930, and records of the former Elgin County Board of Education, 1969-1997, will be permanently transferred to the Archives. The school registers have been digitized and will be fully accessible online after the expiration of ninety years from the date of their creation: 1924 and earlier registers are available now, and later registers will become available on an annual schedule.
