To say the least it is brighter in appearance. A new digital clock sponsored by Coca-Cola Company Limited will also be installed in the near future and as Murray Hodgkin, arena manager puts it: "We have the best operation in Southern Ontario."

Caption: "Taking The Ice Out - Now that the hockey and figure skating seasons have ended at the East Elgin Memorial Community Centre, workers are now preparing for the arena's spring and summer programs by removing the ice surface. Arena Manager Murray Hodgkin says the compressors for the arena's freezing element was shut off Sunday night and there is now a vacuum being operated that enables the floor to warm up and break the bond of ice. Thursday, workers chipped away at the ice surface and today a front-end loader was to pick up the ice and deposit it behind the arena building."
