
Internet Access & Printing
Public Computers

Each Elgin County Library branch has computer stations, Early Literacy stations, and assistive technology stations available for public use inside the branch.
- Computer use requires a valid library card and allows access for one hour per day, extendable to two hours per day if other customers are not waiting. Maximum usage of computer stations shall be two hours per day per patron.
- By using your Library card you are agreeing to our Online Services Policy & Procedure.
- Visitors may register for a temporary guest card user card upon presentation of identification. (This visitor card can be used for accessing public computer stations and the wireless network and must be returned at the end of the session.)
- All personal information and working documents are cleared after the computer session ends. Customers are responsible for saving their own materials to a private device, such as a USB stick.
- Software provided on the computer stations, which are Windows machines, includes web browsers, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher) and Adobe Reader.
- An accessible public computer station with assistive technologies is also available at each branch. This station has ZoomText, as well as a large print keyboard.
- Early literacy stations are also available for use at each branch.
- An iMac computer station is available as part of each our Makerspaces at the Aylmer and Dutton branches. Software provided includes web browsers and creative software and tools.
Wifi (Available 24/7 Outside Branches)

Wifi or wireless Internet services are available from each Elgin County Library branch, both inside (when open) and outside each branch.
- Browse to available wireless Internet networks in your device settings and select a_ElginCounty_Library.
- You will be prompted with a Log In screen. Enter an ID and choose one that is difficult for others to guess.
- By selecting “Accept” at the bottom, you agree to the terms of use and our Public Internet Policy & Procedure displayed.
- A welcome message will display, indicating your minutes of usage remaining and printers available at the branch.
- Close this message and launch your preferred web browser and you are ready to start searching.
Printing

Printing services are available from each Elgin County Library branch.
- Black and white or coloured ink printing is available from computer stations in each branch in both letter and legal paper sizes. The cost for printing is $0.25 per printed side, for both black and white and coloured ink print jobs.
- Print jobs sent from public computers will be released by branch staff at the Check Out or Circulation Desk. At this desk, staff will accept cash payment or will add charges to your Library account as needed in lieu of payment at that time.
Mobile Printing

Mobile or wireless printing services are available from each Elgin County Library branch. Send print jobs wirelessly in a variety of different ways, and then pick up the print job when the branch is open. Check open hours here!

Introducing Princh, our new mobile printing service!
How to Print from Your Mobile Device Using the Princh App:
- Visit your device’s store for apps, install and launch the Princh app.
- Tap on “Print Document” for in-app instructions and guide on how to print with the Princh app. (Also make sure your branch library is open to pick up your print job before printing.)
- Open the app that contains your document that you want to print.
- Tap the share icon in the bottom left-hand corner and scroll down to select the “Print with Princh” option.
- When instructed to do so, toggle back to the Princh App.
- Input your branch printer information by entering the Printer ID and pressing return OR scanning the QR code on the poster guide in the library. When the name of your branch library pops up, tap “Select this printer”.
- Adjust the print job settings, tap “Preview” as needed, and tap “Print”.
- Review the Order Specifications and view and accept the terms and conditions by checking the box at the bottom. Tap “Continue”.
- Tap on “Pay at the desk”. This payment method means that you can pay with cash at the Circulation Desk or request that the amount be added to your existing library account for payment online or at a later time.
- Enter a first name or pseudonym and tap on “Submit Print Job”. Tap on “Close”.
- Visit the Circulation Desk at your branch library to request release of your print job and provide payment.
How to Print from Your Laptop or Desktop Computer Using a Web Browser:
- When printing at the library OR remotely: open your web browser, go to print.princh.com and enter the 6-digit printer ID to select the printer at your branch. If you are printing remotely, check your branch’s open hours to make sure the branch is open before printing.
- Make sure the Printer name selected for your branch library at the top is correct.
- Click on “Click here to select and upload a file” to upload your document(s).
- Adjust the print job settings, including colour selection and number of copies.
- Review and accept the terms and conditions by checking the box at the bottom. Click on “Continue”.
- Select the “Pay at the desk” payment method. (This means that you can pay with cash at the Circulation desk or request the amount be added to your existing library account for payment online or at a later time.)
- Enter a first name or pseudonym and click on “Order print”.
- Visit the Circulation Desk at your branch library to request release of your print job and provide payment.


Photocopying, Scanning, & Faxing

Photocopying, scanning and faxing services are available from each Elgin County Library branch.
- Photocopying, scanning and faxing services are available from photocopiers in each branch in both letter and legal paper sizes. The cost for photocopying is $0.25 per printed side, for both black and white and coloured ink copying jobs. The cost for sending a fax is $1.50 for the first page, and $0.50 for each additional page. Receiving a fax costs $0.50 per page. Scanning is free of charge.
- These services will be performed by branch staff at the Check Out or Circulation Desk. At this desk, staff will accept cash payment or will add charges to your Library account as needed in lieu of payment at that time.
