The Respite Program provides a period of relief for people responsible for the ongoing care of an adult or senior. Individuals may require a break or assistance to meet a loved one’s ongoing care needs. Some individuals may need additional assistance as they recover following an illness or surgery. Respite care can be accessed for up to 90 days per year, for short periods of time such as a weekend, or for longer periods, such as one month. There is a daily fee for the Respite Program. Respite is offered in Elgin County’s three long-term care homes, Bobier Villa, Elgin Manor, and Terrace Lodge.
