The County of Elgin Homes and Senior Services accepts applications for Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses and Personal Support Workers in our three LTC Homes.
Volunteering at Elgin County Homes
The County of Elgin homes host a thriving volunteer program comprised of many dedicated individuals making a difference in our communities. Volunteers assist in many diverse and rewarding areas of the home and contribute to the quality of life of the residents.
All Volunteers must apply to become a Registered Volunteer.
The Application Process Includes:
- Interview or meeting to discuss your volunteer interests
- Application form with signed Volunteer Waiver
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen (current within 6 months) The home will provide you with a required letter. The CRC is free or carries a small fee dependent on your local police station. An annual declaration will be required.
- Step 2 Tuberculosis Test may be required dependent on the number of hours you plan to volunteer annually (current within 1 year) If you have record of a previous step 1 TB test one TB test will be required.
- Orientation, ongoing training and support

All County of Elgin Homes Registered Volunteers receive a detailed orientation to the home along with an orientation specific to the area they will be working.
