Elgin County’s manufacturing sector is a cornerstone of the local economy. With a strong infrastructure, skilled workforce, and strategic location, it’s perfect for automotive parts, metal fabrication, and food processing industries.

Located in the heart of Ontario’s automotive manufacturing cluster, Elgin County offers strategic advantages for supply chain efficiency, logistics, and industry collaboration. Major EV investments in southwestern Ontario include Volkswagen PowerCo (St. Thomas), Stellantis NextStar (Windsor), Mitsui High-tec (Brantford), and GM/Cami (Ingersoll).

Ontario’s 400 highway series connects 12 original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and a cluster of Tier 1, 2, and 3 automotive parts suppliers. With three U.S. border crossings within two hours and the Volkswagen PowerCo site just 14 km away, the region is ideally situated. The GM Cami Assembly plant in Ingersoll and Toyota Manufacturing in Woodstock are also nearby, at 30 and 45 minutes away, respectively.
