Are you a non-profit community group whose primary focus for your program or service is to respond to a community need within the County of Elgin? You may be eligible to apply for up to 50% of your program, service or event up to a maximum of $10,000.
Using approved municipal funds, the Community Grant Program (CGP) invests in both established and emerging community programs that meet identified community need, build capacity and support Elgin County’s Strategic Plan 2020-2022. Council’s Strategic Plan is a roadmap that aligns efforts and resources in a way that supports Elgin County to be the best it can be. The Plan sets out Council’s vision for the County through three (3) Strategic Priorities: Serving Elgin, Growing Elgin, and Investing in Elgin. These priorities represent key areas of focus which guide Council in achieving their collective goals for the community, and it is expected that community organizations applying for grant funding will ensure their programming supports this vision. Through this program, organizations and services can apply for supplementary funds to strengthen their responsiveness, effectiveness and resilience. There are two (2) funding streams, each with its own application package:
1.) Community Services and;
2.) Festivals and Events.
Organizations can submit one application per year.
If you are a non-profit tourism operator who is looking for signage you may apply to the community signage grant in conjunction with one of the two (2) funding streams listed above or on its own. The deadline to submit for the Signage Program is November 1st each year.
