Ford Escort and Mercury Lynx - rolled off the line yesterday at the company's
Wayne, Michigan, Assembly Plant. Wayne's 'Job One' launch culminated more
than five years of research, design and engineering involving the talents of Ford
specialists throughout the world. During the 1981 model year, Ford expects to
produce 385,000 of the new models in the United States. The St. Thomas Ford
Assembly Plant will begin production early in the year of these models." Ford
Escort and Mercury Lynx were produced at the Ford St. Thomas Assembly Plant
from December 1981 to February 1984.
