Photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published April 12, 1978 with caption: "Collection Gate- Camera-shy female employees from the Fleck Manufacturing plant in Huron Park were at the St. Thomas Ford of Canada Assembly plant in Talbotville this morning, manning a collection gate. The connection gate was an unenforced line the women formed, and while they marched, Ford workers were encouraged to donate to their strike fund. Not only did Ford workers donate money, but, in an apparent show of support for the strikers, they stayed off work today. One worker estimated that between 200 and 300 workers travelled to Huron Park to demonstrate along with UAW head Dennis McDermott."
