Introduction
From its inception in 1896 to 1988, Andersons Limited was a mainstay in the community of St. Thomas. This store grew and developed as styles and fashions changed throughout the 20th century. Indeed, generations of St. Thomas residents remember this business as a cornerstone of their community.
R. M. Anderson, the store's founder, and his family, were involved in many community organizations and activities, contributing greatly to the city of St. Thomas.
In 2004, the Anderson family donated a wide variety of store and family records, photos, and other memorabilia to the Elgin County Archives. Some of this material can now be viewed on this website.
