Public Notice: Pesticide Use to Control Invasive Phragmites

Elgin County intends to control invasive Phragmites in specific areas along its rural roadsides. Pesticide use is in accordance with the Public Works Exception under the Cosmetic Pesticides Ban for the promotion of public health and safety.
The locations where pesticide spraying will occur can be found here.
Elgin County will be using the following pesticides registered under the Pest Control Products Act (Canada):
- Roundup WeatherPRO (PCP Reg. # 33653), containing the active ingredient Glyphosate (present as potassium salt), in combination with
- MSO Spray Adjuvant (PCP Reg. # 33193), containing the active ingredient Surfactant Blend
Spraying will commence on August 11th weather permitting and continue until September 18th. Specific locations proposed to be sprayed are shown on a map that can be accessed by scanning the QR code.
