Exciting Changes Ahead for Elgin County Council Meetings – More Time for Discussion, More Transparency!

Starting April 8th, 2025, the structure of Council meetings is changing! Council Meetings and Committee of the Whole Meetings will now be held separately to allow for more discussion and public input before decisions are finalized.
What’s Changing?
✅ Council Meetings will be held first to handle urgent matters, final approvals from past meetings, and reports for information.
✅ Committee of the Whole Meetings will focus on detailed discussions and reviewing reports. Decisions on these reports won’t be final until the next Council Meeting.
Why This Matters to You:
📌 More time for public feedback – You’ll have two weeks to review and comment on issues before Council makes final decisions.
📌 Increased transparency – More in-depth discussions mean better understanding of how decisions are made.
📌 Your voice matters! – Share your thoughts by requesting to be a delegation at a Council Meeting or by reaching out to your local County Councillor.
