Help Shape Elgin County’s Future: Participate in the County’s 2025 Business Planning & Budget Process

Central Elgin, ON – Elgin County Council invites residents and businesses to help shape the County’s 2025 budget by sharing their thoughts on the 2025 Proposed Business Plan & Budget. Public feedback is essential for determining service levels, programs, and infrastructure investments, which ultimately impact the County’s levy and tax rates.

Over the past few weeks, Elgin’s Finance Committee, comprised of all Elgin County Councillors, received presentations from all County service areas. These presentations detailed each department’s proposed budgets and new initiatives for 2025. Consequently, the proposed Elgin County levy, representing the funds required from property taxes to fully support Elgin County Services, stands at $49.8M, resulting in a 1.49% increase in the tax rate for the average property in Elgin

A comprehensive breakdown of this information is accessible to the public through the 2025 Proposed Business Plan & Budget. Community members are encouraged to review this document and provide their insights on the County’s online consultation platform, Engage Elgin.

All feedback gathered during the consultation will be presented to the Elgin County Council for further consideration at its meeting on February 25, 2025.
