Ontario Public Library Week Oct. 20-26

Author Kelley Armstrong – Book Talk and Reception – Monday, October 21st, 2019 @ 6:00 pm

Ontario Public Library week celebrates the role libraries play in the lives of Canadians and their communities. This year Elgin County Library launches the week with a special visit from #1 New York Times best-selling author Kelley Armstrong. Kelley is a prolific writer and sought after speaker. Her writing spans genres from Mystery to Romance, from Young Adult to Juvenile and her titles are always fan favourites of Elgin County Library patrons.

Join the Library in celebrating with this special FREE ticketed event on Monday, October 21st, 2019. The author talk will commence at the Port Stanley Festival Theatre at 6:00 pm and will be followed by a reception and book signing at 7:00 pm upstairs in the Palmer Room over-looking the harbour. Copies of Kelley’s most recent novels “Wherever She Goes” and “The Royal Guide to Monster Slaying” will be available for purchase on-site (cash only).

Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Back by popular demand, the Story Book Pumpkin Decorating Contest will take place during Ontario Public Library Month – October. Patrons can pick up a free pumpkin between October 10th and 17th at a local Elgin County Library branch while quantities last (personal pumpkins may be used but please be mindful of size). A reminder that decorated pumpkins can not be carved and must be returned decorated to the branches by October 19th to be eligible for voting October 21st-26th.  Let your imagination take off and be inspired by your favourite family story books.
