1814: War in the West

Saturday, September 20, 2014 to Tuesday, December 23, 2014

1814 is a new exhibit focusing on the final year of the war. In late 1813, following losses at the Battles of the Thames and Lake Erie, British troops withdrew to Burlington Heights leaving the region open to US raids. The exhibit is composed of a number of weapons and uniforms on loan from the Canadian Military Heritage Museum as well as a series of panels detailing the events and personalities related to the war in Elgin County.
