Elgin County Postcards Image Galleries

The Robert Moore Postcard Collection, originally compiled by former County of Elgin Engineer Robert Moore and donated to the Archives in 2005, comprises approximately 1000 unique postcards, ca. 1890-1990, with black and white and colour images documenting civic architecture, railway and other commercial activities, and urban and rural scenes throughout Elgin County and particularly in St. Thomas and Port Stanley, Ontario.

Item-level descriptive records are available through our online database. Selections from the collection are presented in themed galleries, accessible by clicking on the photo icons below. Reprints are available for any image shown in the database or galleries. Consult our schedule of fees, then download our reproduction order form and submit along with payment in advance to the Elgin County Archives.

Graphic to indicate holiday closures at Elgin County Facilities. The Elgin County Administration Building, Provincial Offences Administration Building, and Elgin County Heritage Centre will be closed on Friday, December 23rd at noon. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024.
