Physiotherapy (PT)

At the County of Elgin Homes resident's are assessed by a Physiotherapist who examines a resident's health record and completes a physical assessment followed by the completion of a detailed individualized treatment plan.  Treatments are completed  by the Physiotherapist (PT) or Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) at the home.  Physiotherapy aims to improve physical functioning, provide rehabilitation, increase independence and improve quality of life.

Occupational Therapy (OT)

Occupational Therapy Services within the County of Elgin Homes are provided by the contract agency PT Health.  Services provided include assessment of residents for adaptive equipment such as walkers, and/ or wheelchairs.  The Occupational Therapist will complete a thorough assessment to ensure proper fitting of equipment as well as ensure proper paperwork is completed for eligible funding.

The Occupational Therapist will provide the resident and / or their family with a list of local adaptive equipment vendors.  For more information or to receive a vendor list please contact the front reception at 519 773-9205.

Resident's are also able to apply for Occupational Therapy Services through the CCAC, please note that a fee may apply.  Please contact the CCAC directly for more information.
