An important milestone in Elgin County’s much anticipated Terrace Lodge Redevelopment Project has been reached as MMMC Architects have been selected as the prime consultants for architectural, design and oversight services for the Terrace Lodge Redevelopment Project. The decision to proceed with MMMC Architects was confirmed by the Terrace Lodge Building Committee at their meeting on March 4, 2019, within the budget established by Council to have an upset limit for this work of $1,779,338, plus taxes, and estimated expenses of $55,840, less potential savings of up to $50,141.
Councillor Purcell, Chair of the Terrace Lodge Building Committee commented, “I am thrilled that MMMC Architects, with over 55 years of specialized services in Long Term Care, offers the kind of experience and a proven track record of success that Elgin County was looking for. We feel confident that we have found the right firm for this important community development project.” While much more work is required to support this project in the coming years, the Terrace Lodge Building Committee is dedicated to driving this project forward.
Warden McPhail, also a member of the Terrace Lodge Building Committee, said, “We look forward to engaging the community, members of our staff, as well as residents and their families at a public open house as early as July 2019.”
